Guided by traffic engineering theory, based on a rich array of examples and with the support of traffic simulation software, this technology dynamically and vividly simulates traffic flow, traffic accidents and other traffic phenomena on the computer, reproduces spatial and temporal changes in traffic flow and analyzes characteristics of vehicles, drivers, pedestrians, road and traffic in depth, thus enabling effective research on traffic planning, traffic organization and management, transport energy saving and material transport flow rationalization and in other aspects. Meanwhile, the traffic simulation system adopts virtual reality technology to visually present vehicle operation conditions on the road and simulate the real situation on the computer without risk as to whether there is traffic jam in a location, whether a road is smooth, whether there is a traffic accident and what solution should be adopted in the case of above situation, so as to comprehensively expound theory and methods of road traffic organization and optimization. The technology has been applied on South 1stRing Road of Hefei City and Feixi County and has achieved remarkable effect.
